Week4-6 Midterm
 Lola & Jina      >>  Slides

What if only one person had the power to regenerate life on earth?

A girl wakes up to a mysterious message, one that she can't avoid, every clue seems to be too easy to ignore, information is lying all around her...for now, it seems this quest takes her further away and goes longer in time.

This is a quest to understand the origin of life, the truth about connections, because when that mistery is revealed, then life can be saved.

Week 2 Indexical storytelling

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1oXx4delIY

I chose one of my favorite animation called Inside-out. There are five personified emotions in the mind of a young girl named Riley Anderson. In this scene, I picked the index "She'. Even though, there are 5 females shown in this clip, we can determine that "she" indexes the Mother. That's why "she" is indexical of the mother. They mention Ryley as the person who "She" is poisoning. We also know that it's not the 3 female cartoon characters, because they are standing next to each other, so we know that she does not refer to them.

Week 1 Assignment

I watched the TEDTALK, "Designing books is no laughing matter, OK, it is," by a graphic designer named Chip Kidd. During the talk, he gives a message about book covers. I was impressed with his perspective regarding how to attract people’s eye and how he designs the book covers of different stories.

Pine Cones, 30 x 23cm, Gouache on the paper, 2017

It made me think about putting one of my own drawings on the cover of a book or package. So, I extracted mulitple pine cones from my A Wind’s step series, and used Blippar(AR Application) to juxtapose them and move them around in the augmented reality. Finally, I created moving pine cones from an actual image of a pine cone. As a first time user, the app Blipper was quite easy to use for manipulating images, which includes moving, rotating, and changing the scale. However, I discovered that when the images move around, they seem to keep blinking when they change scale.
